Brian Greer is the founder and owner of Brian Greer’s Tin Ceilings which was founded and still operates in the small town of
Mannheim, near Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
He started his career as a tinsmith in 1962 apprenticing with Earl Waddell from St. Marys, Ontario, who had himself been in the metal trade for over fifty years. Brian has worked with, and created beautiful items with metal for over 60 years years, and has enjoyed the opportunity to build a true family run business while passing on his skills and knowledge to his daughter Amy, and her husband Robert, who have both worked closely with him over the past 30 years.
Historical restoration work was always a passion for Brian, and early in his career Brian developed a reputation for the quality of the historical reproductions he was producing. As a result his company, Brian Greer’s Tin Ceilings was contracted to reproduce and supply tin ceiling designs for numerous restoration projects, reproducing hundreds of designs and shipping them all over the world. The tin ceiling restorations his company produces are considered to be some of the best in the world.
At 1572 Mannheim road, in Mannheim Ontario you can find a shop, showroom, home and small museum, which are all components of Brian Greer’s home and work environment. In his showroom, which doubles as a museum, shelves and cabinets are lined with turn of the century tools and household items. Here you will find beautiful examples of metalwork, everything from wall mounted candle holders to tin lamps with intricate punched designs on display.
