CLEAR COAT/SEALING INFORMATION
Please note: Always test the cleaning or sealing products on back of a panel or on a scrap piece first to ensure it does not adversely affect the colour of the material
- Install tin (use gloves to avoid possible fingerprints)
- Caulk any necessary seams with paintable, or paintable clear caulking which can be covered after with a metallic silver or chrome paint if required
- Our Bright Tin finish is shipped clean and ready for clear coat, but for the best finish when clear sealing you should wipe the product with Methyl Hydrate, Lacquer Thinner or Denatured Alcohol to remove any dirt, dust or oils that the product may have been exposed to during installation.
- Clear sealer can be applied by brush, roller or spray
To give the bright tin an antiqued finish:
- 1st Coat – Mix 1 oz. of black pigment per 1 litre of clear lacquer (done at paint store)
- 2nd Coat – Apply Clear Coat of plain sealer afterwards to fully protect
